Real Sociedad captain Xabi Prieto has committed his long-term future to the Spanish club after signing a four-year contract extension. The 28-year-old midfielder has been part of the Basque giants' first team since 2003 after graduating from the club's youth academy. The new contract means that Prieto will now stay at the Anoeta until the summer of 2017. "Real Sociedad and Xabi Prieto have reached an agreement to renew his contract," reads a statement on the club's official website. "The new agreement is for four years and means the midfielder will be tied to Real Sociedad until 30 June 2017." Prieto enthused that he wants to continue playing for the San Sebastian outfit for the rest of his career. "Of course I would like to retire at Real and today I have taken a step further towards that dream," he stated.
