Promising frontman says he is close to joining Blackpool

Highly-rated Margate striker Kwesi Appiah claims an agreement has been reached to take him to Championship side Blackpool. The Seasiders have turned their attention to the non-league market of late, with Ian Holloway looking to bolster his attacking ranks. Fleetwood's Jamie Vardy was identified as a top target, with Blackpool seeing one bid knocked back. With numerous other clubs now in the running for the 25-year-old's signature, Holloway is exploring other avenues. It is easy to see why Appiah appeals to the Blackpool boss, with the 21-year-old boasting a keen eye for goal.

Exciting

During his 18 months with Margate, his strike rate has been better than a goal a game. Blackpool feel they can put that potential to good use higher up the league ladder and are prepared to offer the youngster a shot at the second tier. Appiah says he is due to travel to Blackpool for talks later this week, with it possible that a move could be pushed through by the time the Seasiders host Crystal Palace on Saturday. "Margate Have agreed deal with Blackpool," Appiah posted on his official Twitter account. "Going to meet the Gaffa later in the week. Exciting stuff!"
Talks
Appiah's advisor has also confirmed that a deal is close to being completed, with Salif Rubie telling Sky Sports: "Everything has been agreed between the two clubs. "Myself and Kwasi are going to Blackpool to meet the manager and hopefully finalise everything. "Kwasi is very excited at the challenge of playing in the Championship."
