Waddock wanted more players

Wycombe manager Gary Waddock was frustrated in his attempts to bring more players to Adams Park on transfer deadline day.

Waddock did sign highly-rated Watford attacker Matty Whichelow and former loanee Anthony McNamee before the window closed on Tuesday night. But he did not want his mid-season recruitment drive to stop there and the Wanderers boss may try to resurrect some deals when the loan window reopens next week. "We were close on a number of deals but we weren't able to push them over the line for whatever reason," Waddock told the club's official website. "The loan window opens again next week and we will possibly revisit one or two of those deals then. "Overall we are pleased with what we have brought in, we just fell one or two short."
