Nurnberg have completed signing of former Germany Under 21 international Timo Gebhart from Bundesliga rivals Stuttgart for next season.

Midfielder pleased to be joining promising squad

Nurnberg have completed signing of former Germany Under 21 international Timo Gebhart from Bundesliga rivals Stuttgart for next season. The 23-year-old midfielder has agreed a deal until June 2016 at Easy-Credit-Stadion and will switch clubs for a proposed transfer fee of £800,000 (€992,000) in the summer. Gebhart, who suffered from injuries in 2011/12, is happy to be making the move after watching Dieter Hecking's young side finish 10th in the Bundesliga this season. "I am pleased to have signed with Nurnberg," Gebhart told the official website of Nurnberg.

"I am impressed about the results the club has been making in recent seasons, considering that he (Hecking) has mainly been using young and ambitious players in the first team. "All of them have been through a great deal of development at Nurnberg. For me, Nurnberg is a great chance to play regular first-team football in the top tier of German football." Nurnberg manager Hecking said: "I am happy to see Timo Gebhart joining our club. "He has ideal football skills and will offer a great deal of power to our attacking way of football." The signing is another boost for Nurnberg after last week agreeing a contract extension until the summer of 2015 with USA international full-back Timothy Chandler.
