Papiss Cisse, Newcastle: Several contenders for this award, but to come in to a new club midway through the season and score goals straight away, both regularly and spectacularly, shows just what a shrewd piece of business Alan Pardew has done. Team-mates Cabaye and Ba could easily have taken this award. MB Sergio Aguero, Man City: The Argentine has enjoyed a fantastic debut campaign for City since his arrival from Atletico Madrid. Aguero has taken little time to settle into English football, slotting straight into the City side and scoring 29 goals in all competitions to spearhead their title bid. Aguero has enhanced his reputation as one of the most feared strikers in Europe during his first season at City. PO'R Nikica Jelavic, Everton: Many managers considered making a move for Jelavic in January, but it was Everton boss David Moyes who secured his signature. The Scot has a reputation for sniffing out a bargain and appears to have unearthed another gem in Jelavic. The Croatian only played half a season at Goodison, but still broke into double figures. CB Scott Parker, Tottenham: Harry Redknapp must have felt like he had won the lottery when he was able to bring in Parker, one of the players of the previous season, from West Ham on 31st August for a fee of around £5.5million. Parker was always going to prove value for money and he has not let Spurs down, bringing a tenacity to their midfield that perfectly complements some of the other attacking talents at the club and also adding character to the dressing room. LR Gylfi Sigurdsson, Swansea: Brendan Rodgers demonstrated more of his canny managerial ability when he lured the Iceland international midfielder to the Liberty Stadium on loan from Hoffenheim in January. Seven goals from 18 Premier League appearances was the return from the former Reading player, who has seen his value rocket after some memorable displays. RP Yohann Cabaye, Newcastle: The summer signing from Lille topped the Opta tackle count this season as his drive from midfield saw the Magpies prove the year's surprise package. His partnership with Cheick Tiote proved among the most vibrant in the top flight and while his industry throughout was undoubted, his fabulous free-kick in the 3-0 win over Manchester United will live long in the memory.
