Winger in confident mood

Notts County new signing Jamal Campbell-Ryce has set his sights on making a swift return to the Championship with his new club. The Jamaican international signed a two-year contract at Meadow Lane after being released by Bristol City at the end of last season. The Magpies finished outside the play-offs on goal difference last season and the 29-year-old told Sky Sports that he is determined to help County go one step further this year. "I'm looking forward to the new challenge and the only thing on our minds this season is to gain promotion. "It is definitely a club with a lot of ambition and I had a good couple of chats with Keith Curle before signing and he is an ambitious manager that wants to take this club to great places. "They narrowly missed out on qualifying for the play-offs last season and the manager here is keen to do a lot better this season, so it was just great to get a chance to talk to and work with a manager that shares my ambition and drive. "The Championship is where I want to be, but the opportunity arose to come here and get a new challenge and I really can't wait to get started and hit the ground running this season. "I just want to go into pre-season, get as fit as possible, and then look forward to playing my football again because when you have a period of not playing, like last season at Bristol City, it makes you realise how important it is to be playing regularly and how much you miss it."
