Norway international expected to develop further in the Bundesliga

Freiburg have bolstered their squad for next signing after signing Norway international defender Vegar Eggen Hedenstad from Stabaek IF for an undisclosed fee. The 21-year-old has appeared 15 times for Norway's Under 21s and recently made the step up into the senior squad, earning two caps so far this year. The full-back successfully completed a medical at Freiburg on Tuesday and signed a contract with the Bundesliga club before joining them in their training camp in Schruns. "With Vegar Eggen Hedenstad, we have found a player who can help us as a full-back," commented Freiburg's director of sport Dirk Dufner who brokered the deal. "He is regarded as a major talent in Scandinavia with an outstanding amount of experience with 96 league appearances. "Now he will get the chance to develop further with us in the Bundesliga."
