Schalke saw their five-match winning streak brought to an end when Sven Schipplock netted a 91st-minute winner to secure a 3-2 victory in Sinsheim.
But Hoewedes insists his side, who defeated Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates a fortnight ago, can replicate their performance when the Gunners travel to Gelsenkirchen on Tuesday.
"I think we have every chance," said the 24-year-old.
"We won in London, why shouldn't we succeed in front of our own fans at the Veltins-Arena? We will not be thrown off by a defeat.
"Certainly on the way home to Gelsenkirchen, everyone reviewed the game's events. But we have to concentrate on the next task and not look back.
"The result, of course, is a step back, but overall, we put in a good performance against Hoffenheim, dominated the game and we created a number of chances, so you can't see everything as bad.
"We simply need to be more consistent in some situations, both going forwards and at the back."
Schalke currently sit top of Group B on seven points, one above Arsenal, while Olympiakos and Montpellier sit third and fourth respectively.
