The 26-year-old has enjoyed his two-month stint with Plymouth, making five appearances, but Tuesday night's trip to Bradford was the final game of his loan spell.
The former Dagenham & Redbridge full-back's contract with Posh expires at the end of the season and, due to a lack of first-team football, his future seems to lie away from London Road.
However, Griffiths says that he would be delighted to seal a premature exit from the Championship strugglers, with Plymouth his preferred destination.
"Obviously, I'd have loved to have helped Plymouth climb the table a little more during my time here, but hopefully they were impressed and want to keep me here longer," Griffiths told Sky Sports.
"If that is the case then I would be more than happy to extend my stay because the staff and players alike have made me ever so welcome.
"I'm still a Peterborough player at the end of the day, so it is down to them what happens next, but I'd love to stay here.
"Obviously, the Championship is a great league to play in and I'd love to stay at that level long-term, but give League Two credit because it is a very competitive division in its own right.
"I'm just as ambitious as any other player and I'd love to get back to the Championship one day.
"I know what this team at Plymouth are capable of and I feel that promotion is certainly something we should be striving for at this club."
