The 19-year-old, who has spent the season at The Hawthorns on loan from Chelsea, will go up against Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, Christian Benteke, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere for the award.
The Belgium international, a summer arrival at Stamford Bridge from Anderlecht in 2011, has scored 13 Premier League goals for the Baggies this season
Defender Jones, who netted the equaliser in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Newcastle, has been impressed by the youngster.
"Rom has done great and the nomination is deserved," Jones told the Daily Mirror. "He must be happy to get that pat on the back from fellow players.
"But he's rightly there because he's been consistent, he always looks like he'll score and he's a handful for any defender in this league."
