No Cobblers deal for Cameron

Northampton have withdrawn a contract offer to former Coventry defender Nathan Cameron.

The 21-year-old had been on trial at Sixfields towards the end of last season and boss Aidy Boothroyd had seen enough in the six appearances he made, including the League Two play-off final against Bradford, to offer him a permanent deal. However, after weeks of talks, the Cobblers have decided to concentrate on other targets. "There comes a time when you have to move on," Boothroyd told the club's official website. "In this instance we have moved on and that door is now closed."
