Gonalons skippered Les Gones to a third-placed finish in Ligue 1 in the recently-completed campaign but suffered a self-confessed dip in form late in the campaign and was left out of France's squad for their post-season friendlies against Uruguay and Brazil in South America.
Speculation this summer has seen him linked with Napoli and he told the club's official website: "I've seen it from afar, followed it on the internet.
"There are lots of rumours, even if certain things are true. Playing for a club like Lyon, I know that I am in the public eye, that other big clubs watch us.
"I know the club have confidence in me and that is important. I am concentrating only on OL, but in football anything can happen very quickly."
The 24-year-old midfielder has won six senior caps for Les Bleus but last took the field for them as a late substitute in November's friendly against Italy and has made only one competitive appearance.
A high-profile transfer could help him push his claims further, while he also admitted the pressure of the captaincy took its toll last season.
"The goal I am focused on is the World Cup," he said.
"I was very disappointed (to miss the recent friendlies). The coach made his choices, he decided not to take me and he had his reasons.
"I didn't feel quite so good towards the end of the season and it allowed me to rest my head a bit because the season was long and hard. Being captain asks a lot of questions of you and that drains your energy, so that's one reason I was not quite so good in the final months."
