Pilgrims snap up Trotman

Plymouth Argyle have completed the signing of free agent Neal Trotman to ease their defensive worries.

The 26-year-old defender joins up with Argyle manager John Sheridan for the third time in his career and looks set to be involved in their Capital One Cup clash at Birmingham with Guy Branston and Paul Wotton both sidelined. Trotman was heavily linked with a move to Home Park when he left Oldham for Preston in 2008 and he went on to play for the likes of Southampton, Huddersfield and Rochdale. He was reunited with Sheridan at Chesterfield in November 2011 but left the Spireites at the end of last season.
