The former Manchester City trainee has been one of the driving forces behind the Clarets' ascent to the top of the table after 10 games and his excellent deliveries from the right have given in-form strike-duo Danny Ings and Sam Vokes ample service.
Asked if the 23-year-old Trippier was the best in his position at that level, Dyche said: "I don't know of one (better). I think he's a fine player.
"I thought he had a fine season last season and he's shown signs again this season of how good he can be. He's developed his mentality towards the profession and I think he's improving all the time.
"He reads the game well, he's playing with more maturity and his understanding of the game has improved.
"We know he's got qualities and he sees the picture really well. He gets in some great positions."
The goals of Ings and Vokes, who have struck 17 times between them, has been one of the main factors behind Burnley's early success but Dyche was quick to praise Trippier and his fellow defenders too.
The Clarets have kept seven clean sheets in their 13 games so far, and Dyche added: "A lot's been made of the strike-force and rightly so, but the back five have given us a real base to work on.
"There's still a lot to be done. We know how tough this division is and you can't take it for granted; so far we haven't done."
