Bolger makes Colchester switch

Colchester have completed the signing of Bolton defender Cian Bolger on a month-long loan deal.

Bolger, 21, arrives at the Weston Homes Community Stadium to provide cover following a raft of injuries while centre-back Matt Taylor has recently returned to Bradford following the completion of his loan stay. The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international already boasts Football League experience and could make his debut in Saturday's home clash against high-flying Peterborough. Bolger started out at Leicester and enjoyed three separate loan spells at Bristol Rovers in which he made a total of 52 appearances before signing for Bolton in the January transfer window this year. He is yet to appear for the Trotters but has featured heavily for the club's Under-21 Development side.
