Bristol Rovers have announced that defender Garry Kenneth has left the club by mutual consent.

The 26-year-old centre-back's contract has been cancelled just 16 months into a three-year deal he signed when arriving from Dundee United. "Unfortunately things have not worked out with Garry, but the club would like to wish him well for the future," chairman Nick Higgs told the club's official website. "We hope his injury problems have now cleared up and that he can go on to resurrect his career elsewhere." Kenneth was a regular at the start of last season having arrived from Scotland but he sustained a cruciate knee ligament injury on New Year's Day and has not featured for the club since.
