Trio head for Daggers exit

Chris Lewington, Femi Ilesanmi and Alex Osborn have all been released by Dagenham.

Goalkeeper Lewington arrived at Victoria Road from non-league football five years ago before going on to secure the number one shirt, amassing almost 150 appearances in the process. Defender Ilesanmi, also a first-team regular this season, sees his contract come to an end after signing a three-year deal from Grays Athletic in 2010 before featuring more than 100 times for the Daggers. In contrast, young striker Osborn failed to make an impact despite spending time on loan at Ebbsfleet and Chelmsford among others but boss Wayne Burnett had nothing but praise for the departing trio. "It's always sad to see players leave, I've been part of their development and careers and I will always want them to do well," the Daggers boss told the club's official website. "Lewington made a decision that he felt it was the right time for him to leave, I've known him since he was 17 and respected his decision. "Femi, it was also the right time for him to move on, he's been a fantastic servant for this football club and I wish him every success. "Alex has been here since he was 16 and has never quite got the opportunity, hopefully he can go on and prove us all wrong, he's got some fantastic attributes."
