York City have announced that goalkeeper Jason Mooney has signed a two-year deal at Bootham Crescent.

The 25-year-old arrives following his release by Tranmere, where he only made three appearances after signing for the Merseyside club in July 2012. "I was really pleased when I got a phone call from my agent that York City were interested in signing me as a competing goalkeeper to further my career," Mooney told the club's official website. "I want to gain experience and play as many games as I can, whether that means getting two full seasons under my belt or one season. "I'm looking forward to the challenge of establishing myself."
