Kilkenny pens Preston deal

Preston have confirmed that midfielder Neil Kilkenny has signed a new two-year contract.

Kilkenny made 32 appearances last season for the Lilywhites, scoring twice, as Simon Grayson's men reached the Sky Bet League One play-offs. The 28-year-old Australian will now remain at Deepdale until the summer of 2016. "I think Neil showed what he is all about when he first came to the club," said Grayson. "He changed the way that we play. He's a passing midfielder; he hasn't wanted to go anywhere else and we're just delighted that he has signed a longer-term contract. "He will continue to add to the competition - with the players we have in his position all giving us different qualities."
