Cook: Walsall a changed club

Walsall's new signing Jordan Cook believes he has joined a different club to the one he played for four years ago.

Cook spent a period on loan at Walsall in the 2010/11 season as Dean Smith's side narrowly avoided relegation and the striker has returned to make his move permanent, claiming the Saddlers have changed immeasurably in the intervening years. "It's a club transformed," Cook told the club's official website. "One of the reasons I wanted to come back is that, since my last spell at the club, I've kept an eye on results and seen how the club has been improving. I wanted to come back and improve on what I did last time. "Last time it was towards the end of the season and the team were struggling at the foot of the table, trying to avoid relegation. "It was a pretty tough time for the club but we managed to squeeze out of it. "Ever since then I've seen the club improving, improving, and improving. Now it's established at this level and, hopefully, we can take it forward from here. "I'm here to score goals and help the team as much as I can. We have a good squad and an excellent manager who wants to improve us all as players and people."
