Andy Robinson has left Bolton just a few months after signing for the Championship club.

The 21-year-old midfielder was unable to settle in the area and has had his contract terminated at the Reebok.

Robinson only signed for the Trotters in May, having moved to Bolton on loan from Southampton two months earlier.

The Bournemouth-born player, who joined on a free transfer, made just one appearance for the Saints during his time with the club and was yet to play for Bolton’s first team.

Speaking following the club’s friendly against Macclesfield on Friday, manager Dougie Freedman told Bolton News: "We have agreed to terminate Andy's contract and he has returned south.

"He was homesick so it was the right thing for him."
