Sky Sports understands former Blackpool midfielder Angel Martinez is keeping his options open with a number of clubs chasing his signature.

Spanish ace Martinez is a free agent after turning down a new deal on lower terms to stay at Blackpool.

Martinez joined Blackpool in the summer of 2011 from Girona and quickly established himself as a key member of Ian Holloway's side.

The 28-year-old is training at former club Girona as he looks to maintain his fitness ahead of fixing himself up at a new club.

Martinez is believed to be keen on staying in the UK and a number of Championship and Spanish clubs are understood to be weighing up offers for the midfielder who is also a target for several clubs in his homeland.

"I was sad to leave Blackpool as I enjoyed my time at the club, but they made it impossible for me to sign a new deal as they offered me a deal which was 60 per cent less than my previous deal," Martinez told Sky Sports.

"I would like to stay in England as I really enjoy playing there and I am thankful to Girona for letting me train there while I sort out my future.

"I have had offers from England and Spain and I will now weigh up my options before deciding where is best to continue my career."
