Nardiello to see specialist

Bury striker Daniel Nardiello will see another specialist on Wednesday and may require surgery on his troublesome groin problem.

The forward, who has scored six times in 12 games this term, has not played since the middle of October because of the injury which also forced him to miss time earlier in the season. "Nards sees another specialist tonight on his problem," manager David Flitcroft confirmed on Wednesday afternoon. Nardiello's recent absence, coupled with Clive Platt's retirement due to a calf injury, has left the Shakers light on options up top. Flitcroft conducted a recruitment meeting on Tuesday and admits the news which comes back on Nardiello's problem, whether good or bad, will likely affect their movements in the loan market ahead of the deadline in late November. "It's whether we can manage the injury side or whether he needs some surgical intervention - that's something that we will only know tonight," added Flitcroft. "We've got the two different scenarios and we'll work on that; we've talked about it, discussed it and planned it. We've had to have other options but at least it's not happened on the 26th of November, it's happening now. We've got enough time to refocus our attention on the type of player that we're trying to bring in."
