Rochdale extension for Eastham

Rochdale defender Ashley Eastham has signed a one-year contract extension with the League One club.

Eastham's existing deal was due to expire in the summer but the centre-half will now remain at Spotland until the summer of 2016. The 23-year-old is the 15th member of last season's promotion-winning squad to either sign an extension or put pen to paper a new deal with Keith Hill's men, joining the likes of Jamie Allen, Ian Henderson, Olly Lancashire and Michael Rose in doing so. "The gaffer and myself have been in talks for the last couple of weeks, so I'm really happy," Eastham told the club's official website. "I was only interested in staying here. I can develop myself and be part of a successful side - fingers cross we can carry on the good work that we've done already."
