Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Lee Chung-Yong from Bolton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee and the midfielder has signed a contract which runs until June 2018.

The 26-year-old had been with the Trotters since 2009 and made almost 200 appearances for the club but he would have been out of contract in the summer.

And Palace have now wrapped up a deadline day deal for the South Korea international, while Eagles manager Alan Pardew has allowed midfielder Barry Bannan to head in the other direction on loan.

Bannan said via his Twitter account: "Happy to say I've signed for Bolton and can't wait to get going. Big thank you to the Palace fans for there (sic) support, much appreciated."

Lee, who signed for Bolton from FC Seoul in 2009 for £2.2m, suffered a hairline fracture to his shin while on Asia Cup duty but he is expected to be fully fit later this month.

The Crystal Palace website reported: "Lee joined Bolton in 2009 from FC Seoul, where he made his debut at the age of 18.

"He went on to play 195 times for the Trotters, scoring 20 goals, and has three in 26 outings so far this season.

"Lee has also represented his country in two World Cups, scoring twice in the 2010 competition.
"He was won his 65th cap for Korea in their opening game of the Asian Cup last month but returned home after that through injury."
