Watford midfielder Lewis McGugan has returned to Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of the season.

McGugan has rejoined the South Yorkshire club following a loan spell with them at the end of last year when he made seven appearances.

The 26-year-old is expected to be included in the Owls' squad for Saturday's home league game against Cardiff.

McGugan progressed through Nottingham Forest's academy and made over 200 appearances for them before moving to Watford on a free transfer in the summer of 2013, signing a three-year contract.

He scored 11 goals in 37 appearances in his first campaign with the Hornets but featured for them on only seven occasions this season before joining Wednesday on loan in November.
