Positive news for Williamson

Port Vale have received some good injury news after Ben Williamson's hamstring problem proved to be just a 'minor tear.

Williamson, Vale's joint-leading scorer this season with nine goals, was forced off after half an hour of the defeat at Barnsley on Saturday. However, the injury is not as bad as initially feared and the 26-year-old could be back in action for the trip to Bristol City next week. Vale boss Rob Page told the Sentinel: "He picked up a bit of a hamstring pull at the weekend. It is a minor tear and as a precaution we are going to give him as much time as he needs. "We will reassess him at the end of the week but Saturday's game might be a bit too soon for him."
