Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy says loan signing Jonny Williams will play a big part in the club's quest for promotion.
The Crystal Palace midfielder returned to Portman Road for a third stint on loan deadline day, joining club-mate Zeki Fryers in heading to Suffolk.
With seven games remaining in the Sky Bet Championship, Town sit sixth and five points away from the automatic places.
McCarthy told the club's official website: "To get Jonny in is fantastic. He is still getting back to full fitness and hasn't played a first-team game since he got injured here against Watford.
"He is not going to come in and play seven games just like that and we will be guided by him but he's got a part to play for us.
"He is loved by everyone at the club and he's going to add some real quality to our squad. Having him back with us has given everyone a lift."
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Dean Gerken made his return as the Under-21s lost 1-0 to Coventry at Portman Road on Monday night.
Gerken has missed the last two games after being knocked out in the early stages of the 4-1 defeat at Middlesbrough.
He will now be in contention for the Easter period, with a home game with leaders Bournemouth on Friday being followed by a trip to Huddersfield on Monday.
