Notts County have signed Belgium international midfielder Gill Swerts on a two-year contract.

Swerts, who can also play at right-back, was a free agent after being released by Dutch side NAC Breda at the end of last season.

The 32-year-old has made over 300 club appearances and won 17 caps since starting out with Feyenoord’s youth team.

Swerts also played for AZ Alkmaar and has featured in the both Champions League and the Europa League.

He becomes County’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window, joining Rob Milsom, Rhys Sharpe and Scot Bennett.
