Manchester United are yet to agree a fee with Fenerbahce for the transfer of striker Robin van Persie.

The Dutchman was unveiled as a Fenerbahce player at a presentation ceremony at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul on Tuesday after agreeing a three-year contract.

But a transfer fee has yet to be signed off between the clubs after Van Persie signed a deal worth at least £3.4m a year (€4.9m) in wages, excluding bonuses.

It is understood Manchester United do not expect to receive a sizeable fee for Van Persie, who turns 32 next month.

United are understood to be intensifying their efforts to find a replacement for the Netherlands international, with the Daily Express linking them with a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

Robert Lewandowski is another player linked with the club in the media but the Poland international's agent insists it would cost at least £35m to prise the striker away from Bayern Munich.
