Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Chris O'Grady from Brighton and Hove Albion on a season-long loan.

The striker has joined his hometown club until the end of the campaign but will not be eligible for Forest when Chris Hughton's side visit the City Ground in April next year.

Forest need reinforcements up front as they are currently without injured strikers Britt Assombalonga and Matty Fryatt.

O'Grady, 29, moved to the Amex from Barnsley last summer and made 23 starts for Brighton, scoring three goals.

He also spent part of last season on loan at Sheffield United.

"We haven't been able to give Chris the amount of opportunities in the Championship that he will get at Nottingham Forest," Hughton told www.seagulls.co.uk.

"He is a great professional, and has been good to work with since I came here in January. On behalf of everyone at the club I would like to wish Chris well at Forest, for the season ahead."
