Pep Guardiola expects Manuel Neuer to stay at Bayern Munich amid reports of interest from Manchester City.

The Germany international, who joined Bayern from Schalke in June 2011, has three years remaining on the contract extension he signed in May 2014.

Guardiola will replace Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium this summer, and reports in the English press have linked the incoming City manager with a move for the goalkeeper.

But when asked about the rumours in Friday's press conference, Guardiola said: "Manuel Neuer will be the goalkeeper at Bayern Munich for the next five, six, seven, eight or nine years.

"That's my hunch. I haven't asked him about this, I don't know what he thinks. But I think he could stay at Bayern Munich for the rest of his career."
