Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang says he is looking forward to a reunion with Jurgen Klopp when Borussia Dortmund take on Liverpool in the Europa League quarter-finals.

Klopp will take the Reds back to his form club on Thursday night for the first time since he ended his successful seven-year spell last May.

But Gabon international Aubameyang is ready to show his former boss how far he has come since his big move to Dortmund from St-Etienne three years ago.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year recently impressed in Dortmund's 5-1 aggregate win against Tottenham scoring three goals over two-legs in the last 16 Europa League tie.

He is currently going through a hot streak and scored his 23rd goal of the season with a superb chip in Saturday's 3-2 win over Werder Bremen.

And Aubameyang now wants to prove to Klopp how far he and his team-mates have improved since he left for Anfield.

"It is very great for us to have this game," said Aubameyang. "We can show him that we have worked hard to get back to where we were and that we have progression. It will be a very difficult game, for sure, but we want to show Klopp that we are working very hard.

The 26-year-old also admits he will be slightly nervous when he comes face to face with the German, although he is looking forward to meeting his mentor once again.

"I do not know what I will say when I see him again. All I know is that it will start with hello! We will speak a little bit in German, maybe. We will see what happens."
