Jeff Hendrick is having a medical at Burnley ahead of a permanent move from Derby, according to Sky sources.
The 24-year-old, who has spent his entire professional career at Derby, was of significant interest to Premier League rivals Hull City but is set to join the Clarets on Deadline Day.
Sean Dyce's side had an original bid - reportedly £3m - rejected in July but returned with an improved offer.
Hendrick has been part of the Derby County side that pushed for promotion to the Premier League in recent seasons, scoring 22 goals in 196 appearances.
Hendrick's reputation was boosted after impressing for the Republic of Ireland during the Euro 2016 finals in France.
After the tournament, Hendrick caught the attention of Premier League clubs and Burnley, according to Sky sources, made two bids for the midfielder in July.
Meanwhile, Burnley midfielder Lukas Jutkiewicz is having a medical at Birmingham ahead of a loan move, Sky sources understand.
