Birmingham City Ladies booked their place in the final of the FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup with a victory against London Bees at the Hive.

The Blues dominated from the start and created a number of opportunities before Kirsty Linnett gave them a deserved half-time lead with a neat finish from close-range.

Kerys Harrop doubled the lead shortly after the break when she nodded home, before late goals from Charlie Wellings and an own goal by Bees goalkeeper Bethan Davies capped off the win.

City piled on the pressure and it finally told after 26 minutes when the unmarked Linnett stooped low to head skipper Emily Westwood's cross into the bottom corner.

At the other end, the Bees wanted a red card when Jo Wilson rounded Ann-Katrin Berger with the goal beckoning, only to be barged over by the Blues' keeper.

David Parker's side doubled their lead in the 54th minute when Harrop rose highest to head home powerfully from Andrine Hegerberg's deep corner.

The Bees were unable to create any opportunities in the second half and their misery was compounded when Wellings' 30-yard strike found the top-right corner in the 84th minute.

Davies then struggled to deal with Hegerberg's corner in injury time, fumbling the ball into her own net to put the tie to bed for City.

Women's Super League leaders Manchester City Women will host holders Arsenal in the second semi-final on 4 September with the final taking place on 2 October at Manchester City's Academy Stadium.
