Birmingham manager Gianfranco Zola was left fuming and embarrassed by his side's "unacceptable" display against Wigan and admits they are at risk of being dragged into the relegation dogfight.
Zola also said he feels for the club's fans following the 1-0 home loss and says he can understand their frustrations.
Blues have only won two of 15 league games since Zola took charge and Tuesday's reverse to second-bottom Wigan left them 17th in the Sky Bet Championship, eight points above the bottom three.
Zola said: "I fully understand the supporters wanting a change. So far I have not given them what I promised. I feel sorry for them.
"I feel disappointed and angry. It is not as if I not enjoying what I am doing.
"I am too disappointed and angry and I need to analyse the situation. I am responsible and I want to do the right things."
Zola was highly critical of his team following the defeat at St Andrew's, which saw Dan Burn - a former Birmingham loan player - net a 19th-minute winner for the lowly visitors.
The Italian said: "This performance was not acceptable. Only three days ago they produced an outstanding performance and then they play like they did against Wigan.
"There are no excuses. It is not acceptable to me or the club. We didn't deserve anything from the game. I feel embarrassed even talking about the performance.
"I am not deflecting the responsibility but this is not what we want. If we continue playing like we did against Wigan we could easily be sucked into a relegation fight.
"It is very annoying as nothing like this has ever happened to me before in my career. I am getting angry to be honest.
"I have a lot of anger inside me but it is so annoying. We need to change.
"I feel very disappointed as a lot of players just didn't perform. I am responsible and I want to do the right thing."
