Jackie McNamara is under no illusions Scotland will be one of the outsiders for Star Sixes this summer but insists they will give it their best shot.

The former Celtic and Wolves defender will don a dark blue shirt again in July when Scotland come up against the Auld Enemy, England, as well as Mexico and Spain in Group A of the tournament that will grace London's O2 Arena from July 13 to 16.

McNamara is one of three former Scottish players to be unveiled on Friday which completes Scotland boss Dominic Matteo's 10-man squad, along with Celtic team-mate Mark Burchill and ex-Rangers star Neil McCann.

With the likes of Brazil, Germany, Portugal and France also taking part in the 12-team tournament, Scotland will have their work cut out, but McNamara is not fazed.

"We'll be the underdogs as usual, especially against England, but we'll give it a right good go," he said.

"There are some really top teams taking part - France look strong, so do Spain, and England have some good players.

"But we've got the spine of the team that played in the 1998 World Cup and there are some good lads in our squad, too."

"There are some fit lads there, too, which will be important because some of the players we'll be up against have not long retired, such as Steven Gerrard," he added.

McNamara, who has never been to The O2 before, said: "Now I have seen the line-ups and who is taking part, I'm really looking forward to it.

"We'll be bringing plenty of friends and family, and I am sure the Tartan Army will be there to support us as well. It promises to be an exciting event."

Jackie McNamara, Neil McCann and Mark Burchill are the latest signings for Star Sixes, a new international six-a-side tournament at The O2, London, July 13 to 16. Tickets available at starsixes.com
