Kevin McNaughton has called time on his footballing career at the age of 34.
The Dundee-born defender began his career with Aberdeen in 1999, spending seven years at Pittodrie before moving south of the border to play for Cardiff, Bolton and Wigan.
He then spent the final year of his career back in Scotland with Inverness, who he joined on a free transfer.
In his final competitive match in May, he came on as an 85th-minute substitute against his home town club Dundee.
However, he did pull on an Aberdeen shirt in a pre-season friendly last week, when the Dons took on St Johnstone in Perth.
McNaughton said in his Instagram account: "Have loved every minute of it.
"Looking forward to spending a bit of time with the family and then start to look for a new challenge to sink my teeth into .
"A big thank you to everyone that's helped me along the way. Feel privileged to have played at some great clubs and to have played for 17 years. I feel very fortunate."
