Florian Lejeune's Newcastle debut was cut short after a tackle from Harry Kane left him injured. But should the striker have seen red?
The French defender was handed his first start after arriving at St James' Park last month, but his maiden appearance lasted just 32 minutes.
He was pitted up against Tottenham's star striker Kane, and as they were tussling on the right touchline, Lejeune got the better of the England international.
It led Kane into a lunging tackle on the defender, sending him tumbling and holding his ankle in agony as referee Andre Marriner produced only a yellow card for the Spurs man.
There were boos around the ground at the decision as some fans felt like it should have been a sending off, with Lejeune eventually hobbling off the field after some medical attention.
It comes after Jonjo Shelvey was given a straight red card after a stamp on the ankle of Dele Alli, who went on to score the opening goal before Ben Davies rounded off the 2-0 Spurs win.
