The European transfer window may be closed but clubs will already have an idea of where they will need to strengthen when it reopens in January.
Our friends at Football Whispers have scoured the continental media for the latest news and transfer rumours.
Manchester United are willing to let Arsenal transfer target Anthony Martial join Barcelona as part of a deal that would bring Ivan Rakitic to Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho is a keen admirer of the Croatian midfielder and believes his creativity could be a real asset to him in the Premier League.
Martial, despite beginning the season in fine form, has not been a guaranteed starter under the Portuguese coach and may be used as a makeweight. (Diario Gol)
Philippe Coutinho remains a Barcelona transfer target and the club will again try to sign him in January, according to club CEO Oscar Grau.
The Brazilian playmaker was the centre of a bitter transfer saga in the summer as Liverpool refused to sell him to the Catalan side, with the player himself attempting to force through a move. And while the Reds' stance has not softened, the Merseyside club are braced for another bid come January.
"We are ready to buy Coutinho in the winter market, or any player the technical staff request," Grau said in a press conference. (Marca)
Meanwhile, Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta is targeting a return from injury for the side's trip to Atletico Madrid at the weekend. The 33-year-old is still recovering from a hamstring injury which forced him to miss both of Spain's recent World Cup qualifiers and has two more training sessions this week to prove his fitness. Napoli are interested in signing highly-rated Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa. The Italian club's president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed that he failed with several bids for the 19-year-old in the summer, but is ready to go back in with a big offer. Chiesa has scored two goals and notched one assist in six Serie A appearances this season. (Corriere dello Sport)
Juventus have identified a key transfer target of their own, with the club set to launch a bid in excess of £70m for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The Manchester City transfer target has been in impressive form this season and is expected to be the subject of intense transfer speculation in the coming months, with his brother issuing a come-and-get-him plea by saying he is waiting for Juventus. Paris Saint-Germain defender Dani Alves has welcomed the possibility of the club signing Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.
The Manchester City transfer target is expected to leave the Gunners in either January or next summer, and the former Barcelona and Juventus right-back has said it would be good to see him add to the Ligue 1 side's glittering array of attacking talent.
"He is wanted by many teams. It would be good if he came with us," Alves said. (Le Parisien)
