Coventry defender Tom Davies will miss Friday's play-off second leg with Notts County after being suspended for three games for violent conduct.

The 26-year-old appeared to tread on Magpies defender Richard Duffy's leg in the 21st minute of Saturday's League Two play-off semi-final first leg.

It was not seen by the match officials but caught on video. A statement from the Sky Blues said they will not appeal against the ban.

The incident was referred to a panel of three former elite match officials and each official reviewed the footage independently to determine whether they considered it a sending-off offence.

For a charge to follow, the decision had to be unanimous. The panel decided the offence was worthy of a straight red for violent conduct.
