Brentford striker Lloyd Owusu is hoping to gatecrash Ghana's squad for this summer's World Cup.
Owusu has been called into the Ghana squad for Wednesday's friendly with German side Wurzburg and he could win a late place in Ratomir Dujkovic's plans.
The former Sheffield Wednesday and Reading forward remains hopeful of getting the nod to make Ghana's final squad.
"I knew there was an inkling with regard to me making the Ghana squad," said Owusu.
"They're due to announce the World Cup squad next month and I'd heard they had been looking at me so it was just a case of keeping on working hard at my football.
"I found out I was in the squad when Mr Dujkovic phoned me on Friday and asked me to come and play in Germany.
"Obviously I asked the gaffer (Martin Allen) and he was delighted, he told me 'go for it'."
"If the chance now comes for me to be involved at a World Cup I'm going to take it.
"Making it to the biggest competition in world football is every professional player's dream and if I had the chance I know I'd take it with both hands."
Meanwhile, Brentford striker Isaiah Rankin has been ruled out of the club's push for promotion through injury.
Rankin is struggling with a knee injury and he has been forced to go under the knife.
The former Arsenal trainee will now miss the rest of the season as Brentford look to win promotion from League One.
