Defender wants to stay with capital club

Sammy Traore is holding discussions with Paris St Germain in regards to a contract extension. The Mali international drew admiring glances from elsewhere over the summer, but insists his future remains in the French capital. The 32-year-old admits that he may not always be first choice at the Parc des Princes, but remains committed to the PSG cause. "My agent is in talks," he told L'Equipe. "I would like to stay with the club for the foreseeable future. It is my club, and my town. "I have had contacts, but I didn't want to leave. "Coach Paul Le Guen has been clear with me, he is always honest. He told me it would be difficult for me to play, but I have not chosen the easy option."

Meanwhile, Ludovic Giuly admits he is yet to find his best form since returning to his homeland. The talented playmaker joined PSG from Roma over the summer, with much expected from the France international. However, with other veteran stars such as Claude Makelele struggling to find their feet in their new surroundings, 32-year-old Giuly concedes there is more to come from the club's big-name close-season signings. "We didn't really have a preparation for the season," he said. "We are trying to manage, but we arrived a little late compared to the rest of the squad. I am not at my best and I know it."
