Brighton have completed a double loan deal for Championship duo Gary Borrowdale and Mikkel Andersen.

Borrowdale and Andersen added to Seagulls squad

Brighton & Hove Albion have completed a double loan deal for Championship duo Gary Borrowdale and Mikkel Andersen. Borrowdale has joined the Seagulls on loan until the end of the season from Queens Park Rangers, while Andersen has arrived on a month's loan from Reading. Full-back Borrowdale has yet to make a first-team appearance for QPR since joining the club originally on loan from Coventry City in November. He signed a three-and-a-half year deal at Loftus Road in January and Brighton assistant manager Dean White is confident Borrowdale will be a good addition.

Knows the job

White told the club's official website: "Gary is someone I've been aware of since his days at Crystal Palace. He's got a good left-foot, he's a good defender and he knows the job well. "He's played well over 100 games in the Championship and will be a good acquisition for us." Danish goalkeeper Andersen has recently signed a new contract at Reading and White is happy to have added cover to the position for Brighton. He said: "Mikkel is an up-and-coming young goalkeeper. He is a big presence and comes highly recommended by Steve Coppell. "With the current situation as it is we need cover in this position. It's an important position, Mikkel has played against us in the reserves this season and we know what he's about." Both players are expected to go straight in to new Brighton manager Russell Slade's squad for Saturday's game at fellow strugglers Leyton Orient.
