Mark Viduka's international career could be over after being left out of Australia coach Pim Verbeek's 30-man squad.
The former Socceroos captain has endured an injury-blighted campaign with Newcastle, only playing a handful of games as the Magpies tumbled out of the Premier League.
Verbeek has elected not to include the burly striker in his plans for the World Cup qualifiers against Qatar, Bahrain and Japan next month, which may bring the curtain down on his 43-cap career for Australia.
Youngsters Rhys Williams and Dario Vidosic come into the Socceroos squad for the first time, with the former recently pledging his allegiance to Australia after being courted by Wales and appearing at Under-21 level for the principality.
Middlesbrough goalkeeper Brad Jones gets a recall, while Vince Grella, who missed the most recent game against Uzbekistan, is also back in the squad.
Tim Cahill is included, but will not join the camp in Dubai until after he finishes his FA Cup commitments with Everton, with the Toffees tackling Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday.
