Winkelman delighted to secure defender from Wycombe

MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman admits new signing David McCracken was one of manager Roberto Di Matteo's top summer transfer targets. McCracken has agreed a two-year contract to join MK Dons on a free transfer from League One new boys Wycombe Wanderers. He had made 82 appearances in two seasons with Wycombe, but the former Dundee United defender had been keen on a fresh challenge. Winkelman was delighted to secure the 27-year-old and believes he is the type of player that Di Matteo is trying to bring to the club. "David was one of our top priorities this summer and we're tremendously excited that we've been able to bring him to stadium:mk," Winkelman told the club's official website. "He has all the attributes of a top-class defender, has an extremely professional attitude and his qualities as a leader are already abundantly clear. "He's a fine example of the calibre of player we're looking to recruit and has all the ambition to be a huge success at this football club."
