A number of players have been recalled to the Wales squad for Wednesday's friendly against Montenegro in Podgorica.
Defender Danny Gabbidon comes back to the fold after a number of complex abdominal problems have left him on the sidelines for nearly two years.
Gabbidon's West Ham team-mate James Collins also returns to the squad after missing two internationals with a back injury, while Manchester City forward Craig Bellamy is welcomed by John Toshack.
However, the Wales coach will be without goalkeeper Boaz Myhill who has a hand problem, while Gareth Bale, Simon Davies and Blackpool's David Vaughan will not be able to make the trip either.
Gabbidon has missed 15 internationals since making his last appearance for his country against Germany in November 2007.
"You do get down and wonder when you're going to get back," he said.
"But you have to stay positive as negative thoughts don't help. Obviously you do get days where you are doing the same (rehabilitation) work all of the time and wondering if you're getting anywhere, and some days you just don't want to do it.
"I had a couple of days at the end of last season training with Wales, with West Ham's permission, and that was a really big boost after what has been my hardest time in football.
"My wife has suffered the brunt of my frustration when I used to come home from training miserable, and she and my family are the ones who have been there to support and encourage me."
Toshack will be hoping Gabbidon can re-establish his partnership with James Collins in time for Wales's World Cup Qualifier against Russia in September.
