Out-of-contract goalkeeper given new chance
Aston Villa have signed veteran goalkeeper Andy Marshall on a one-year deal.
The 34-year-old saw his contract at Championship side Coventry expire at the end of last season but has been handed a new chance by Martin O'Neill.
Marshall is likely to provide back-up for first choice Brad Friedel and his understudy Brad Guzan.
The former England Under-21 international began his career at Norwich before signing for arch rivals Ipswich.
He has since enjoyed a spell at Millwall before joining the Sky Blues.
Villa's previous second-string keeper, Stuart Taylor, joined Manchester City in July after reaching the end of his contract.
