Leeds striker pens new three-year deal

Leeds United have secured Mike Grella's long-term future after handing him a fresh three-year contract. The 22-year-old American striker signed an 18-month deal last January after impressing while on trial. Grella has primarily been used as a substitute, although he impressed from the start in Monday's Carling Cup success at Darlington. While Grella is still waiting to net his first senior goal for Leeds he is delighted manager Simon Grayson has rewarded him with a new long-term contract. "I'm absolutely delighted to have signed the deal," he told the club's official website. "It is good to know that the club have instilled a bit of belief and confidence in me. "I want to be part of the group and play as big a part as I possibly can in getting Leeds promoted so we'll have to wait to see how it plays out."
