Bordeaux striker keen to put transfer gossip to one side

Marouane Chamakh insists his focus remains solely on life at Bordeaux following fresh speculation regarding his future. The Moroccan striker saw his future become the subject of much conjecture over the summer, with a move away from the Ligue 1 champions widely touted. A host of Premier League clubs were reported to be tracking his availability, with Arsenal and West Ham leading the hunt. Chamakh, however, remains in France for now and insists that he is prepared to give his all for Bordeaux this season. That remains his stance, despite rumours now linking him with a possible switch to Serie A giants Juventus. "I am very calm and I am concentrating on playing well in the league and in the Champions League for Bordeaux," Chamakh told skysports.com. "I am not talking about transfers at the moment." Reports in Italy claim Juve regard Chamakh as a potential replacement for French forward David Trezeguet, who looks set to quit the club at the end of the season.
